Driver Equipment Operator III (CMT Nursing Care Center Roddey)

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health C. M. Tucker Roddey Pavilion 2200 Harden Street Columbia SC 29203.

• Transport clients staff authorized personnel and other items locally and statewide. Maintain daily vehicle utilization records.
• Maintain protection and accountability of all transported items using chain of custody forms and procedures.
• Perform and document vehicle pre-trip/post-trip inspections. Comply with Vehicle Management established policies and procedures.
• Perform dispatch duties process transportation requests and coordinate daily transportation requests.

• High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years driving experience. One (1) year without a moving violation no more than one (1) motor vehicle accident/incident regardless of fault and no suspensions within the last three years.
• Experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment motorized vehicles or machinery that is directly related to the area of employment.
• A valid South Carolina drivers license.

• Ability to sit stand squat kneel and climb steps unassisted and lift 35lbs.

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Post hire employee must:

• Have considerable knowledge of South Carolina traffic laws and regulations.
• Be able to read maps written directions and safely operate a variety of vehicles.
• Be able to work evenings nights and weekends as needed. Employee in this position is considered essential personnel and must be willing to work holidays on rotation and on-call during periods of inclement weather.
