Job Summary

As a Mechanical Engineer in the Electrical test design organization you will design complex mechanical assemblies for PCBA and product level test systems. You will be designing fixtures with tight tolerances and pneumatic / manually actuated assemblies. You will need experience with surfaces to mate supports jigs and clamps to our shipping products. You will steer product design teams though your expertise of DFM / DFT and enable complex analysis with FEA tools. The team will build and source large electromechanical fixtures for manufacturing test systems your CAD designs system level architecture and experience with sensors and actuators will help us rebuild the arsenal.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Design mechanical assemblies and fixtures using professional CAD design tools.
  • Work with rapid fabrication teams or 3rd party suppliers to source material equipment and product.
  • Integrate designs into Andurils PLM systems.
  • Develop complex electromechanical systems within a multidisciplinary group.
  • Train technicians on equipment.
  • Design and implement next generation test systems to facilitate repeatable and robust product testing.
  • Design and develop thermal solutions including heatsinks for RF systems as well as contribute to PCBA and harness designs to ensure optimal performance and thermal management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years of hands on mechanical engineering experience designing for test and/or manufacturing
  • Experience with sheet metal design 3D printing and CNC machining.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers in-house fabrication and prototyping process.
  • Experience with PCBA test fixturing design.
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as load cells strain gauges multimeters etc.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiar with PLM (Teamcenter or equivalent)
  • Proven track record of past designs integrating electrical components into mechanical assemblies.
  • Working knowledge and proper application of GD&T
  • Experience with MCAD (NX SolidWorks CATIA)
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of hands on mechanical engineering experience designing for test and/or manufacturing.
  • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with mechanical systems related test (Thermal Vibration etc.)
  • Active Security Clearance
  • Experience with electrical test equipment.

US Hourly Range

$129000 - $150000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience education and/or training critical skills and/or business considerations.
