Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking aLaboratory Technician1-3to join our team! We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. At Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center we are able to bring you a wide range of services close to home provided by a network of board certified physicians.The incumbent will perform a wide variety of advanced level clinical diagnostic without direct supervision.

Job Duties:

• Performs advanced diagnostic laboratory tests in the following areas: Hematology Coagulation Chemistry Bacteriology Blood Bank Urinalysis Parasitology and Serology. Perform tests without direct supervision: Perform laboratory tests on patients of all ages. responsible for working all shifts.
• Performs ABO Rh and routine screenings Performs all Cytological procedures. Preform gram stains on cultures. Performs fine needles aspirations for Histology; having knowledge of tissue preservation and respond to all other pathology questions in the absence of the Pathologist. Assist the Laboratory Information Specialist. Perform CAP inspections as required for Accreditation.
• Performs phlebotomies to collect blood samples for testing Perform phlebotomies on patients of all ages. Train subordinate and/or new personnel. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Stock and rotate supplies for laboratory.
• Attend Educational In-Services Mandatory Training and Annual Review as required by hospital policy and procedure or deemed necessary by the supervisor.
• Any and all other duties assigned to include ensuring departmental coverage.

• Laboratory Technician 2 $16.37/hour
• Laboratory Technician 3 $17.52/hour
