Purpose of the Role:

In an increasingly fragile and interconnected world organizations face more frequent severe and globally disruptive events than ever before. At A.P. Moller Maersk Safety & Business Resilience plays a critical role in identifying exposed business elements and ensuring fit-for-purpose capabilities are established to mitigate the impact of disruptions.

Business Resilience at Maersk integrates Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Crisis Management into a cohesive response framework with close alignment to Workplace Safety Disaster Recovery and Supply Chain Security. This integrated approach safeguards our people protects operations and supports sustainable business performance forming the foundation of resilience across the organization.

We Offer

This role reports to the Head of Global Safety & Business Resilience Global Service Centre (GSC) and is based in Pune. As part of the GSC Safety & Resilience core team you will work closely with GSC Functions GSC Site representatives and Resilience teams to drive consistent implementation of safety and resilience practices.

You will operate as a key individual contributor in a matrix environment partnering with stakeholders across locations and functions while also contributing to global knowledge-sharing and best-practice development.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Assurance

  • Drive governance and oversight of the Safety & Business Resilience framework ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Plan and execute internal audits across GSC locations and functions; deliver high-quality insight-driven audit reports with clear actionable recommendations.
  • Track and drive closure of audit findings to ensure sustained compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Review & report on annual risk assessments across sites and functions.

Standardization & Quality Management

  • Drive standardization and consistent adoption of Safety & Business Resilience practices across GSC sites and functions.
  • Conduct periodic quality reviews to assess effectiveness maturity and adherence to defined frameworks.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement across safety and resilience processes tools and methodologies.

Crisis Management & Incident Response

  • Coordinate crisis response activities across sites supporting Site Crisis Management Teams and Functional Resilience teams to ensure people safety and operational continuity.
  • Maintain structured crisis logs and develop comprehensive post-incident reports capturing lessons learned and driving improvement actions.
  • Monitor external alerts and emerging risks; ensure timely structured communication to relevant stakeholders.

Training Testing & Awareness

  • Design and deliver structured training programs and capability-building initiatives to strengthen Safety & Business Resilience knowledge across sites and functions.
  • Facilitate tabletop exercises and scenario-based simulations to enhance crisis preparedness and validate response effectiveness.
  • Drive targeted awareness campaigns and engagement initiatives to embed a strong culture of safety resilience and risk awareness.
  • Assess training and exercise outcomes to identify capability gaps behavioral insights and areas for continuous improvement.
  • Leverage innovative approaches (e.g. digital content storytelling visual communication) to enhance learning effectiveness and engagement.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Drive governance and automation of compliance scorecards for sites and functions.
  • Engage with GSC Functional Resilience teams GSC Safety & Resilience team Site BCP managers Execution Excellence team to ensure alignment transparency and visibility.
  • Translate complex data into clear impactful insights and visual narratives to support leadership decision-making.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to digitize and automate Safety & Business Resilience processes including audit tracking risk assessments BCP lifecycle management and crisis reporting.
  • Design and implement automation solutions (e.g. dashboards workflows reporting tools) to enhance efficiency accuracy and real-time visibility.
  • Leverage tools such as Power BI Excel automation and digital platforms to streamline data management monitoring and decision-making.
  • Drive measurable improvements in process efficiency turnaround time and stakeholder experience through smart automation.
  • Enable data-driven resilience through trend analysis and insights to proactively identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities.

Who are we looking for

Education & Certification

  • Bachelors/Masters degree (or equivalent) in business or related field.
  • Certification in ISO 22301 or equivalent required.
  • Additional certifications such as ISO 45001 ISO 31000 ISO 9001 IOSH would be beneficial.
  • PMP certification / Project Management skills is a plus

Experience

  • 10 years of relevant experience in implementing end-to-end Business Continuity Management programs in large organisations or MNCs.
  • Proven track record in governance and assurance of management system.
  • Strong experience in auditing quality assurance and compliance frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; along with experience in Power BI or similar digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with visual management tools like Canva or equivalent is preferred.
