Job Summary

Job Summary:

The MRI Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of general magnetic resonance imaging examinations for outpatient inpatient and emergency department patients. This role requires expertise in various specialized imaging procedures including abdomen pelvis cardiovascular head neck musculoskeletal and spine scans. The technician will administer contrast media start peripheral IVs and ensure high-quality image post-processing while maintaining strict adherence to isolation precautions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

- Perform general MRI exams for adult acute care ICU outpatient and ER/trauma patients.
- Conduct specialized imaging including abdomen pelvis cardiovascular chest head neck musculoskeletal and spine scans.
- Execute special imaging procedures such as CINE diffusion gradient echo imaging image post-processing MIP MRP spin echo images surface coils and T-1/T-2 weighted images.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and start peripheral IVs.
- Operate standard MRI equipment and contrast injectors to perform imaging procedures.
- Maintain isolation precautions and adhere to all safety and clinical protocols.
- Utilize electronic medical records imaging databases and communication systems for patient documentation and care coordination.
- Note: This role excludes invasive procedures requiring anesthesia support Breast MRs prostates and biopsies.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active ARRT (MR) certification.
- Active BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience.
- Proficiency in adult acute care adult ICU adult outpatient and ER/trauma settings.
- Experience with a comprehensive range of MRI scans (abdomen pelvis cardiovascular head neck musculoskeletal spine).
- Competency in starting peripheral IVs and administering contrast media.
- First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience in pediatric acute care and pediatric outpatient settings.
Special Considerations:

- Requested Time Off (RTO) after booking is strictly prohibited and cannot be negotiated onsite; call-offs or additional RTO may result in immediate cancellation.
- Start dates are subject to change based on class and trainer availability; candidates must be fully available with no other commitments during the first week to accommodate schedule adjustments.
- Missing any portion of the 40-hour orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start.
- Required to wear Royal Blue scrubs (not provided).
- No floating requirements.
- Unit details: 151 beds average daily census of 18 patients with a 1:2 ratio for days/mids.
Scheduling:
- 13-week contract 40 hours per week.
- Monday through Friday 06:30 - 15:00 (8-hour shifts).
- Rotating weekend call requirement (one specific weekend required during the contract with the call shift from 19:00 - 06:30).
- Shifts are determined and assigned per unit needs.
