Licensed Practical Nurse I

We are hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse I for one of our clients in Clinton NJ.

Job Description:

• To the extent/scope of licensure general nurse job duties include: Transcribe and carry out physician orders for medications and treatments (PO injection via gastric tube and external). Order/reorder medication and treatment items as needed.
• Complete count of inventory of controlled drugs at change of shift.
• Assist in physical examination of clients obtain vital signs and specimens educate clients/staff on medications and other health/care matters as needed.
• Administer first aid.
• Manage/assist with set-up and use of equipment including but not limited to: enteral feedings respiratory treatments oxygen suctioning Foley catheters colostomies abdominal binders and braces.
• Complete all required documentation including charting maintaining accurate medical records.
• May participate in other routine duties such as feeding bathing dressing lifting transferring and repositioning clients. Assist with admissions discharges and transfers.
• Provide nurse care to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a residential facility including but not limited to medications treatments and all required documentation.

Skills Required:

• Strong focused observation (LPN) or assessment (RN) skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Knowledge/experience with the physical mental and emotional needs of individuals with intellectually/developmental disabilities psychiatric issues and/or geriatric care.
• Experience with respiratory equipment and enteral feeding a plus.

License/Certifications:

• Current and unencumbered LPN or RN licensure valid in the State of New Jersey.
• Must possess the ability to physically lift move and position clients as needed.

Experience Required:

• At least 1 year working as a licensed professional or registered nurse administering medications and treatments as well as attending to other nurse duties for client health and well-being

Work hours:

• 6:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m. and/or 2:00 p.m. 10:30 p.m.
• Lunch (unpaid): 30 minutes

Additional information:

• Staff should provide their own stethoscope and penlight.
• Dress Code: SCRUBS no color/pattern
• Shoes must be close toed with a back.
• Duration: Ongoing
