Job Responsibility

Common HEMM Job Roles

• HEMM Mechanic / Technician: Diagnoses repairs overhauls and services engines hydraulic systems and components of heavy equipment (e.g. dumpers excavators) to keep them in good running order.
• HEMM Operator: Safely and efficiently operates heavy machinery such as bulldozers excavators dump trucks or loaders in mines or construction sites.
• HEMM Engineer / Supervisor: Supervises maintenance teams ensures equipment availability plans preventive maintenance and ensures safety standards are met.

• Excavators
• Dump Trucks / Dumpers
• Bulldozers
• Loaders / Pay Loaders
• Drillers / Scrapers

Common Job Responsibilities (Mechanic/Technician)

• Carrying out repairs on internal combustion engines transmissions and hydraulic systems.
• Performing preventive maintenance and daily inspection checks.
• Troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical system breakdowns.
• Maintaining records of repairs spare parts and fuel usage.

Key Skills and Requirements

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Safety Adherence: Strict adherence to mining safety regulations and PPE usage.
• Experience: Previous experience in industrial or mining environments.
• Certification: ITI (Motor Vehicle Mechanic) or relevant technical training.
