Key Responsibilities
- Develop maintain and enhance COBOL applications on mainframe systems
- Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical solutions
- Write clean efficient and well-documented COBOL code
- Work with JCL CICS DB2 and VSAM files
- Debug test and resolve application issues
- Perform system integration and batch job monitoring
- Support production deployments and troubleshoot production issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project delivery
- Ensure application performance security and reliability
- Prepare technical documentation and reports
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of COBOL programming
- Experience with Mainframe technologies
- Knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language)
- Experience with DB2 VSAM and CICS
- Understanding of batch processing systems
- Debugging and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science IT or related field
- 15 years of COBOL/Mainframe development experience
- Experience in Banking Insurance Healthcare or Finance domains is a plus
- Knowledge of Agile methodology is an advantage
