Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic MRI imaging procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. The MRI Technologist will operate specialized MRI equipment while ensuring patient safety image quality and compliance with departmental imaging protocols.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of MRI physics cross-sectional anatomy patient positioning and imaging techniques along with excellent patient care and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
MRI Imaging Procedures
- Perform MRI imaging procedures according to departmental protocols
- Position patients and MRI coils appropriately for optimal imaging quality
- Evaluate MRI images for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability
- Ensure images are properly labeled and transmitted to PACS systems promptly
- Maintain accurate imaging documentation within RIS/IDX systems
Patient Care & Safety
- Educate patients regarding MRI procedures and safety requirements
- Review MRI safety questionnaires before patient entry into MRI scan rooms
- Maintain strict MRI safety standards and screening procedures
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout examinations
- Follow infection control and patient safety protocols consistently
Equipment & Department Support
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of MRI rooms and equipment
- Stock imaging supplies and accessories as needed
- Report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions promptly
- Assist physicians during imaging procedures when necessary
- Coordinate inpatient imaging studies as required
- Support clerical and scheduling duties when needed
Documentation & Compliance
- Record patient tracking and imaging data accurately in RIS systems
- Schedule imaging exams and upload patient documentation appropriately
- Maintain compliance with licensure requirements and departmental policies
- Attend required continuing education and departmental in-services
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program required
Licensure & Certifications
- Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology required
- ARRT MRI Registry Certification required
- BCLS Certification required
- NYS DOH Radiography License required
Experience
- Strong background in:
- Cross-sectional anatomy
- MRI physics
- Physical sciences
- Patient positioning and imaging techniques
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience preferred
