Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to support minimally invasive image-guided procedures in both routine and emergency clinical settings. This role involves assisting physicians and advanced practice providers during interventional procedures while ensuring patient safety maintaining sterile technique and operating advanced imaging equipment.
The ideal candidate will have strong Interventional Radiology experience including Neuro IR and GI embolization procedures along with excellent technical and patient care skills.
Key Responsibilities
Procedural Support
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures
- Support Neuro IR and GI embolization cases
- Maintain sterile fields and follow infection prevention protocols throughout procedures
- Prepare procedure rooms supplies medications and imaging equipment
Patient Assessment & Care
- Review patient charts to verify:
- Imaging orders
- Medication considerations
- NPO status
- Conduct patient interviews regarding:
- Medical history
- Implanted devices
- Contrast allergies
- Procedure-related risks
- Educate patients regarding procedures discharge instructions and post-procedure expectations
Imaging & Technical Responsibilities
- Operate specialized imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Administer contrast agents under radiologist supervision when applicable
- Monitor patient condition and vital signs during procedures
- Observe patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately
Documentation & Safety
- Maintain accurate documentation within:
- EMR systems
- PACS imaging systems
- Follow radiation safety standards and ALARA guidelines to minimize exposure
- Collaborate closely with radiologists nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Respond effectively during emergency situations including Basic Life Support (BLS) interventions
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
- Required experience with:
- Neuro IR procedures
- GI embolization cases
Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Sterile technique
- Radiation safety
- Interventional imaging procedures
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity and emergency procedural settings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced vascular and neurointerventional procedures preferred
- Strong EMR and PACS documentation experience preferred
- Excellent patient communication and procedural support skills
