Yard Shunter Nights

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Shunter to join our transport team in Shirebrook. This is a key role responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within the transport yard supporting warehouse operations and ensuring trailers are positioned correctly for loading. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Safely manoeuvre vehicles between bays within the transport yard and across site delivery points 
• Operate a range of vehicles including shunt tugs and HGVs 
• Position trailers and containers on loading bays for live and scheduled loading 
• Work closely with Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure smooth operations 
• Liaise with third-party and service provider drivers 
• Ensure vehicles are available for inspection and maintenance as required 
• Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times 

Qualifications :

• Previous experience within a transport or yard environment (preferred) 
• Valid HGV licence (essential) 
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team 
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment 
• Reliable and flexible approach to shift work 
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
