AI Development Project Manager

AI is rapidly reshaping how engineering project delivery technical advisory and product development are executed. AFRYs Global Division Industry is now boosting its AI development with a dedicated AI Development Project Manager to coordinate initiatives across segments and regions.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering delivery digital development and business transformation. Your primary focus will be on turning AI use cases into concrete value in projects and delivery operations while also supporting AI enablement in sales and internal workflows.

As AI Development Project Manager you will:

• Coordinate and drive AI initiatives across operations within Global Division Industry
• Develop and maintain AI development portfolio with prioritization routines
• Translate delivery and project needs into practical AI use cases and prioritized development backlogs
• Work closely with engineering teams project managers data/AI specialists and IT to ensure AI initiatives are feasible scalable and aligned with tools roadmaps.
• Ensure AI solutions are deployed with clear ownership governance and adoption in organizations
• Support selected AI initiatives in sales bid processes and internal efficiency (e.g. planning reporting knowledge reuse)
• Track value realization risks and dependencies ensuring AI development stays aligned with business priorities
• Act as a bridge between strategy operations and technical implementation
• Success in the role is measured by a prioritized active AI portfolio with deployed use cases clear ownership and demonstrated value in Client delivery or internal efficiency.

The working location is flexible within AFRYs operating countries. Regular collaboration with Nordic and international teams is part of the role.

This role is initially offered as a one-year fixed-term position with the opportunity to further shape and adapt it based on evolving needs.

The position reports directly to the COO Office giving the access to all global operations of the division. Internal candidates may apply for this temporary role with possibility to continue in current role after this assignment.

Qualifications :

The person we are looking for has: 

• Solid experience in project or program management within IT engineering industrial projects or consulting
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional development initiatives in complex organizations
• Strong understanding of engineering and project delivery processes (e.g. design execution project management quality safety)
• Practical exposure to data digital or AI-enabled solutions
• Hands-on AI development capability such as experience building simple AI tools agents prototypes or automations to test demonstrate and challenge use cases
• Ability to structure prioritize and communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders
• A pragmatic delivery-oriented mindset focused on impact rather than hypex
• Fluency in English

Experience from industrial digitalization engineering tools data platforms automation or AI adoption is considered an advantage.
