UX Content Designer
Job Summary
Position Description:
The UX Content Designer creates clear helpful and user-focused content for digital products including websites applications and tools. This role is primarily focused on content design while also contributing to UX design activities when needed including the creation and iteration of user flows wireframes and prototypes to support overall product and user experience goals. The ideal candidate will bring 3 years of experience in content design UX writing or a related digital content role.
Working closely with UX designers developers product owners and business stakeholders the UX Content Designer helps shape intuitive accessible and effective digital experiences. The successful candidate combines strong writing and communication skills with user-centered design thinking using research and data to guide decisions and improve how users understand and navigate digital products.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Lead or contribute to content discovery activities including workshops stakeholder interviews research reviews and analysis of existing documentation to understand business goals and user needs.
Create user-focused content solutions that support seamless end-to-end digital experiences across platforms.
Write clear concise UI content including: Form labels Buttons Error messages Confirmation text Help content Tooltips Modal text FAQs Instructional content
Ensure content aligns with: Brand voice and tone Accessibility standards Responsive design considerations Plain language best practices
Test refine and optimize content through usability testing and experimentation incorporating feedback from users and stakeholders.
Present content strategies and recommendations to UX and business teams.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning reviews and demos.
Collaborate with UX designers and independently create user flows wireframes and low- to mid-fidelity prototypes when required.
Provide content-informed input into information architecture interaction design and screen layouts.
Participate in usability testing and research activities to assess user understanding pain points and content effectiveness.
Support UX designers and developers during implementation to ensure content is accurately applied and aligns with intended designs.
Step in to support UX design activities during periods of team capacity constraints or evolving project needs.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Post-secondary education in Communications Technical Writing Interaction Design Psychology or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience in content design UX writing or a related digital content role.
Strong writing editing and proofreading skills with a solid understanding of: User-centered design UX writing principles Digital content best practices
Thorough understanding of: User-centered design methodologies Design thinking Standard UX principles and practices
High proficiency with design tools such as Figma particularly for collaboration wireframing and content integration.
Understanding of responsive design and how content adapts across devices and screen sizes.
Working knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive content practices.
Ability to clearly explain UX decisions using user needs research insights and best practices.
Strong collaboration skills with an openness to feedback and a deadline-oriented mindset.
Comfortable learning new tools and adapting to evolving processes and products.
Familiarity with design systems and experience applying content and design standards consistently within established systems.
Preferred Qualifications / Assets
Experience working within cross-functional Agile teams.
Familiarity with usability testing methods and basic UX research practices.
Experience in regulated or complex industries such as insurance or healthcare.
Working knowledge of French.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65000 - $110000. This is a future opportunity.
