Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC isseeking an experienced Medical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dedicated oncology care team in Hilo Hawaii. The ideal candidate will have strong chemotherapy administration experience infusion therapy expertise and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced oncology environment.

This role requires excellent patient education skills proficiency with central line management and strong knowledge of chemotherapy safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently administer chemotherapy immunotherapy targeted therapy and hormonal/non-hormonal injections according to provider orders
• Access and maintain Port-a-Caths PICC lines and Hickman catheters
• Perform venipuncture dressing changes and laboratory specimen collection via central lines
• Monitor patients during IV therapies and document responses accurately in the EMR
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records related to treatments medications and patient conditions
• Notify oncology providers of unusual patient occurrences and initiate emergency interventions when necessary
• Educate patients families and caregivers regarding medications side effects treatment expectations nutrition and disease processes
• Verify informed consent prior to chemotherapy administration
• Follow proper handling administration and disposal procedures for hazardous medications while using appropriate PPE
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols infection control standards and facility policies
• Perform additional clinical duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Recent Medical Oncology RN experience required
• Strong chemotherapy administration experience required
• Experience with Port-a-Caths PICC lines and Hickman catheters required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Strong patient education and communication skills required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced oncology setting
