Manager Edge Security Architect

Note: This is a remote role with possible contract to hire down the line. Candidate will be working remote while they are on contract on EST/CST timezone and looking for candidates who are currently local to one of Sapient office locations so that they can be onsite if they convert full time down the line but will be working remote as long as they are on contract.

• 5 years of hands-on experience with F5 A10 Cloudflare Akamai WAF AVI or Citrix in an enterprise environment
• Strong experience with Edge Security WAF CDN and Load Balancers
• Deep knowledge of HTTP HTTPS TLS DNS Routing Switching and Layers 1 7 troubleshooting
• Experience supporting Cloud Native Applications in AWS Azure or GCP
• Strong background in Network Engineering and Information Security
• Experience with Web Application Security and OWASP Top 10 mitigations
• Experience handling production support high priority incidents and on-call rotations
• Knowledge of scripting/automation is a plus

• Serves as a senior technical contributor supporting application delivery and edge security platforms including F5 A10 WAF Cloudflare and Akamai and provides input into platform design resiliency and capacity planning activities.
• Performs hands on engineering tasks including configuration maintenance and operational support of application delivery controllers WAF and CDN platforms and assists with onboarding and migration of applications into these platforms.
• Partners with network security and application teams to ensure consistent traffic management security controls and operational processes across on prem cloud and edge environments.
• Provides technical leadership and mentoring to peers through knowledge sharing documentation and design discussions and stays current with emerging application delivery and edge security technologies.
• Participates in risk based technical decision making related to application delivery and security evaluating impact and severity to protect proprietary personal and privileged electronic data.
• Implements and maintains network and application security best practices including change controls configuration standards documentation WAF CDN and load balancer policies and monitoring.
• Troubleshoots complex application delivery network and security issues across Layers 1 7 including DNS TLS HTTP and CDN traffic flows and communicates status and resolution clearly to stakeholders.
• Participates in on call rotation responding to high priority incidents within defined SLAs and supports maintenance activities during off hour change windows as required.
• Creates and maintains technical documentation runbooks and audit artifacts and communicates findings recommendations and remediation steps when required.
• Supports internal and external security assessments audits and questionnaires by providing technical input evidence and documentation and assists with remediation and corrective actions.

• Technical execution and problem solving related to network engineering and information security including load balancers CDNs DNS TLS firewalls and web application security.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience supporting application delivery controllers and edge platforms such as F5 A10 AVI Citrix WAF Cloudflare or Akamai in an enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting cloud native applications in AWS Azure or GCP and securing applications using CDN or edge security platforms.
• Strong understanding of HTTP HTTPS TLS DNS routing switching and application security concepts including OWASP Top Ten mitigations.
• Working knowledge of scripting or automation is a plus.

All contractor resources are expected to demonstrate baseline proficiency in enterprise-approved AI tools as part of their day-to-day responsibilities. This includes but is not limited to:

• Consistent Use: Maintain a minimum of 90% weekly usage of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot Microsoft 365 Copilot and other GenAI platforms approved by the enterprise.
• Applied Productivity: Leverage AI tools to enhance coding documentation data analysis and decision-making workflows.
• Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving AI capabilities and features and apply them to improve delivery quality and velocity.
