Join the power movement as a Senior Financial Analyst
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the finance team responsible for providing strategic financial support to our engineering operations and corporate functions. This is a highly visible role that requires a blend of traditional financial acumen and modern technical proficiency. You will work closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance improve decision-making and ensure the companys long-term success.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in FP&A and business partnering with a demonstrated interest in using data tools (Power BI SQL Anaplan) to automate workflows and provide deeper more scalable insights than traditional spreadsheets alone.
What youll do:
- Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Partner with business leaders to develop and manage annual budgets long-range plans and quarterly forecasts
- Provide insightful financial analysis and commentary on key business drivers
- Reporting & Automation:
- Improve the efficiency of monthly reporting by developing data models and Power BI dashboards
- Transition recurring manual reports into automated self-service tools for the broader team
- Business Partnering:
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to the leadership of various departments (Engineering Manufacturing R&D)
- Proactively identify and address financial challenges and opportunities and provide recommendations to improve financial performance
- Performance Management:
- Prepare and present financial reports and KPIs to senior leadership
- Monitor performance against budget and forecastutilizing Power Query and SQL to streamline variance analysis and data extraction
- Capital Allocation and Project Analysis:
- Support capital allocation decisions by providing financial analysis and modeling for new projects capital expenditures and strategic initiatives
- Utilize Anaplan and relational databases to ensure project tracking is accurate and scalable
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and analysis
- Help move the finance function toward more scalable system-driven workflows
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and develop junior members of the finance team and contribute to a collaborative and high-performance culture
What were looking for:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field
- 7 years of experience in finance with a focus on FP&A and business partnering
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with Power BI Power Pivot and Power Query for financial reporting
- Systems Experience: Familiarity or direct experience with Anaplan SQL and Relational Databases is highly preferred
- Financial Modeling: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to build complex models while leveraging automation tools to reduce manual effort
- Communication: Excellent skills in articulating complex financial concepts and data-driven insights to non-financial audiences
- Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Mission-Driven: A passion for our mission and a desire to contribute to the development of fusion energy
Bonus Points For:

- Experience in a manufacturing technology or start-up environment
Must-have Requirements:
- Perform activities such as typing standing or sitting for extended periods of time
- Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
- Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat cold noise fumes strong magnets lead (Pb) high voltage high current pressure systems and cryogenics
$110000 - $185000 a year
Salary range for this full-time position equity benefits.The actual salary will depend on level location qualifications and experience. The range displayed on each job posting reflects new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Benefits include:
