Title: TEACHER Physical Education Art or Music
Minimum Qualifications:
- Appropriately licensed/certified by the Illinois State Board of Education.
- Teachers in grades 6-8 must have Middle School Endorsement in Content Area
Accountable to:
Primary Objective:
- Instructs students in physical education art or music activities in educational institution by performing the following duties.
Major Areas of Accountability*:
- Plans physical education art or music program to promote development of students physical attributes social skills and life-long activity skills.
- Teaches individuals utilizing knowledge of sports art or music techniques.
- Organizes leads instructs physical games art activities or music performances.
- Teaches and demonstrates the use of equipment related to physical education art or music.
- Confers with students parents and school counselor to resolve student problems.
- Selects stores orders issues and inventories equipment materials and supplies used in physical education art or music program.
- Supervises classroom students and volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bending carrying climbing must be able to travel between job sites lifting pushing-pulling reaching sitting standing and walking.
- Must be able to occasionally lift move or push items of 50 lbs such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.
- Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
- Must have Adaptive Physical Education Approval if a Physical Education Endorsement is
Working Conditions:
- Includes extremes of temperature and humidity.
- Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases.
