Job Overview

We seek motivated high school students to join our team as Environmental Plant Science Summer Intern. This role is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about plant nursery while gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.

Assisting in maintaining and cleaning greenhouse
Watering plants both outside and inside
Potting and transplanting plants
Fertigating
Completing inventories (chemical and hard goods)
Greenhouse and research lab maintenance and set-up
Organizing materials
Working with chemicals under the supervision
Lifting/moving nursery goods and materials

Qualifications

Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

Open to high school students currently enrolled or who have recently completed an ACL pathway high school.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Punctuality and reliability.
Self-motivated
Physically capable of working outdoors and lifting 50 lbs

Reports to: ACL Principal

Salary Level:Banded Rates: Band 1

Salary Scale: Range:$14.59/hourly
