Job Description Summary

How will you make an impact & Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intakes including vital signs medical history and medication/allergy review

• Assist providers with exams minor procedures wound care and diagnostic testing

• Perform EKGs immunizations and specimen collection per competency standards

• Prepare label and process lab samples and pointofcare tests

• Maintain infection control safety protocols and equipment calibration

• Support patient triage care coordination and transitions between care settings

• Provide patient education on medications treatment plans and preventive care

• Document clinical data and provider instructions in the EHR accurately

• Schedule and track appointments referrals authorizations and test results

• Verify insurance coverage and assist with prior authorizations and billing needs

• Maintain exam rooms supplies and clinical inventory

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives audits and safety drills

• Facilitate communication between patients providers and care teams

• Uphold HIPAA OSHA and all compliance standards

• Deliver compassionate culturally competent care to diverse patient populations

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA RMA or CCMA) required

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program

• Active certification and ongoing continuing education

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Clinical or internship experience preferred

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

• Familiarity with EHR systems preferred

• Skilled in vital signs EKGs and routine diagnostic procedures

• Knowledge of infection control sterile technique and universal precautions

• Strong documentation medical terminology and scheduling skills

• Ability to multitask follow workflows and maintain confidentiality

• Excellent communication customer service and teamwork abilities

• Professionalism and accountability aligned with organizational values

• Ability to work independently in a fastpaced clinical environment

Physical Requirements

• Sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 lbs; ability to lift up to 15 lbs independently

• Frequent repetitive motions of hands wrists and fingers

• Visual acuity for data entry documentation and computer use
