As demand for highconfidence measurement continues to grow Renishaw is expanding its calibration and verification capability to ensure customers achieve peak performance from their CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machines) and EquatorX systems.
This will be a key customerfacing role at the heart of this mission. Primarily fieldbased you will work handson at customer sites across the UK with occasional international travel carrying out service maintenance calibration and verification on a range of metrology equipment.
In this role you will ensure systems operate to the highest standards meeting ISO 103602/5 requirements and directly supporting Renishaws global reputation for metrology excellence accuracy and trust. Your work will have a visible impact on customer confidence product quality and manufacturing performance.
Renishaw will provide comprehensive training and structured onthejob development enabling you to build the skills and confidence required to work independently in the field. As your experience grows there is clear potential for progression within the team offering longterm career development within a worldleading engineering organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Core Calibration & Technical Duties
Perform Service and maintenance to a high standard on CMMs and EquatorX machines
Perform ISO 103602 and ISO 103605 verification and calibration on CMMs and EquatorX machines following approved Renishaw procedures
Set up stabilise and measure with calibrated artefacts (gauge blocks step gauges spheres temperature sensors) in accordance with company processes.
Prepare and apply calibration labels certificates and documentation to customer equipment.
Conduct performance analysis including error mapping using laser interferometers (XL80 / XM600).
Diagnose causes of verification failures and advise customers on corrective actions.
Support installation and commissioning teams where calibration expertise is required (e.g. postretrofit verification).
Maintain accurate calibration records equipment logs and follow company calibration database processes.
Customer Interaction & Support
Provide expert guidance on calibration standards measurement uncertainty and machine performance.
Communicate test results clearly ensuring customers understand compliance status and any followup recommendations.
Deliver onsite user guidance on maintaining machine performance and environmental best practices.
Represent Renishaw professionally building strong customer relationships and trust.
Continuous Improvement & Feedback
Supply feedback to engineering metrology and R&D teams regarding recurring calibration issues or product improvements.
Assist in refining calibration procedures internal best practice and customer documentation.
Contribute to raising global calibration standardisation across the service network.
Key Requirements
HNC Mechanical Engineering Metrology Mechatronics or equivalent.
Previous experience in a customer facing field based role.
Excellent customerfacing communication and professionalism
Methodical detaildriven mindset with analytical skills.
Capable of working independently on customer sites with minimal supervision.
Strong ownership and reliability in delivering highquality calibration outcomes.
Additional Requirements
UK driving licence.
Willingness and availability for frequent travel with overnight stays during the week including occasional overseas assignments.
Ability to work in controlled environments and follow strict calibration procedures.
Desirable Experience but not essential
Proven experience in calibration metrology CMM verification or precision engineering.
Background in highprecision industries (aerospace automotive medical advanced manufacturing).
Understanding of measurement principles uncertainty and traceability.
Experience with Renishaw CMM technologies including EquatorX REVO2 UCCServer and calibration databases (e.g. QC Gages).
Ability to interpret calibration certificates metrology reports and technical drawings.
