Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

Working inside the clinical facilitymanagepatient account problems by working directly with the patient toidentifypayment solutionsutilizingspecialqualificationsand sliding fees andinitiatingthe discharge process.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide guidance and education to all patients who have or are expected to have patient responsibility balances for accessing discount programs applying for Medicaid programs setting up payment plans qualifying for MAHEC Sliding Scale Program and other MAHEC fully funded programs.

  • Maintain established policies and procedures for patient billing and stay abreast of current state and federal guidelines and lawspertaining tocollections.

  • Responsible for coordinating the discharge process according to MAHECs discharge policy

  • Responsible for qualifying applicants for MAHEC Charity Care governmentalassistanceprograms MAHEC fully funded programs.

  • Utilize estimating tools todeterminepatient responsibility amounts and communicate with the patient.

  • Perform duties related to Collections to includegenerateandmailcollection lettersreceivephone calls from patients related to collection balances and other collection activities as assigned.

SPECIFIED SKILLS

COMPUTER

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint and database applications.

  • Advanced skills in a Medical Office Management software program preferably Allscripts.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE

  • Spanish speaking skills preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associatedegree threeyearsrelevant experience or comparable combined education and/or experience.Experience must include telephone collection calls work with aged accounts receivable and extensive computer experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical office experience.

SCHEDULE:

Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division);40 hoursper workweek; weekend holiday or evening coverage is occasionally. Work hours will need to be flexiblein order torespond to special work assignments or evening activities as requested by the team leader.

POSITION COMPENSATION:

$23.65/hour full time full benefits available
