We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused HSE Technician to support a turnaround project at a chemical manufacturing facility in Pryor Oklahoma. This is a project-based role supporting a high-paced maintenance turnaround environment where reliability attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in the field are critical to success.

Position Summary

The HSE Technician will support daily safety operations during a mechanical turnaround at a Koch Chemical facility in Pryor Oklahoma. This is a lower-level field safety role focused on conducting audits reviewing pre-task plans and documentation supporting orientations monitoring PPE compliance answering process and policy questions and observing/reporting safety concerns in the field.

This role requires a strong work ethic dependability and the ability to maintain a visible presence in an active industrial environment. The ideal candidate is coachable detail-oriented and comfortable working extended hours during a turnaround schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field safety audits and observations throughout the turnaround project
  • Review pre-task plans permits and task documentation for compliance
  • Support new worker orientations and site onboarding activities
  • Issue and track PPE as needed for contractors and personnel
  • Answer basic safety process and policy questions in the field
  • Observe work activities and report safety concerns hazards and non-compliant behaviors
  • Reinforce site safety expectations and support a positive safety culture
  • Maintain accurate documentation reports and inspection records
  • Partner with site leadership contractors and operations teams to support safe project execution
  • Assist with incident reporting and corrective action follow-up as needed

Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification required
  • Basic experience in construction industrial manufacturing refinery chemical plant or turnaround environments preferred
  • Strong dependability and attendance record required
  • Ability to work extended hours and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pass a background check drug screen and motor vehicle record check
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Strong communication and observational skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in active industrial environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting chemical plants industrial shutdowns or mechanical turnarounds
  • Familiarity with permit systems pre-task planning and contractor safety
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Experience conducting field audits and safety observations

Schedule & Work Environment

This is a temporary project assignment expected to last approximately 66 days.

Project Schedule

  • Pre-Turnaround: Approximately May 18th through May 24th working 5x10s
  • Mechanical Turnaround: Approximately May 25th through July 19th working 7x12s
  • Post-Turnaround: Approximately July 20th through July 26th working 5x10s

This role supports an active chemical manufacturing facility and requires working in a fast-paced industrial environment with strict safety expectations and extended work hours throughout the turnaround period.

PPE & Physical Requirements

  • Steel-toed boots long pants and work shirts required
  • Company-provided PPE must be worn at all times in designated areas
  • Ability to stand walk climb stairs and work in outdoor industrial conditions for extended periods
  • Must be able to maintain awareness and focus in a high-activity environment

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Native of the country of contracted work preferred.
  • Fluent in the native language as well as English (primary or secondary language).
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Safety and Health standards and regulations for the identified country / region.
  • Proficiency in contractor / subcontractor QSE management including mobilization / demobilization pre-qualification requirements pre-work evaluations contractor/subcontractor evaluations and post-work assessment.
  • Proven expertise in jobsite hazard assessment/analysis/solution risk assessments incident investigation and root cause analysis using the 5 Why and TapRoot methods
  • Development/implementation of processes and procedures including comprehensive Quality Safety and Environmental plans.
  • Experience in conducting inspections and audits.
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must adhere to Vestas Business Partner Code of Conduct
  • Physically capable to climb WTGs
  • Must complete Vestas E-Learning courses for:
    • 5 Whys
    • Incident Management Process
    • Safety Walks Even Better
    • Managing Human Error
    • Global Wind Organization training package (work at heights firefighting first aid and ergonomics) and SIT (safety introduction for technicians) trained.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or Advanced Technical degree in Health Safety or Quality engineering related field or Certificate in relevant field (Example: Certified Construction Health and Safety Technician; General Safety Practitioner etc.) or
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in wind energy industrial or civil construction or manufacturing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must weigh less than 300 lbs with 25 lbs of climb gear on.
  • Must be able to climb towers at least once a week.
