Job Summary
Key job responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal counsel to operations logistics and transportation teams across Brazil
- Navigate complex Brazilian transportation and logistics regulations including cargo transportation licensing fleet programs and last-mile delivery operations
- Negotiate and structure commercial agreements with carriers logistics providers and transportation partners
- Advise on business strategies and the development of new operations technical products and innovative delivery services
- Identify and mitigate legal reputational and commercial risks
- Coordinate with public policy teams and engage directly with Brazilian regulators (ANTT ANVISA etc.)
- Design and implement permits and compliance frameworks for operations and transportation programs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal subject matter experts on labor & employment tax corporate compliance and regulatory matters

The Operations & Transportation Legal team supports Amazons global logistics and transportation business. You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for supporting the business on commercial and regulatory matters for all operations and logistics in Brazil.

- 10 years of post bar admission legal experience
- Experience in communication and presentation skills both written and verbal in Portuguese & English
- Experience with commercial agreements and commercial transactions
- Law degree and active membership with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB)
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in developing and executing an analytic vision to solve business-relevant problems
- Experience with communication presentation and negotiation
- Experience working cross functionally across several teams
- Experience in transportation operations and industry knowledge
- Experience advising legal matters in logistics infrastructure technology e-commerce sectors
