Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)

Job Summary

Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventories of consumables supplies for the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This includes coordinating consignment instruments and supplies for specialty cases. Participates in review of Operating Room inventory and custom packs to monitor usage and identify cost saving opportunities. Facilitates with Purchasing the repair of surgical equipment. These duties must be accomplished within the budgetary and space requirements of the hospital.

Essential Functions

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIILITY

Monitor stock levels change par levels and order items as appropriate. Confirm and order implants and/or requested items. Communicate necessary changes to charge master. Meet with vendors as directed for specific issues raised by nursing staff. Consult staff regarding stock item or location changes. Communicate changes. Communicate stock problems (i.e. back orders) and alternatives to staff. Review and complete charges based on charge forms with appropriate information. Interacts with physicians other departments outside maintenance services and sales representatives to ensure satisfactory service and coordination of non-clinical activities while operating within budget constraints. Assists the Director of Surgical Services in planning the annual budget establishing methods for controlling supply costs establishing procedures for charging for services and supplies carrying out supply functions insuring proper maintenance and operation of equipment. Maintain purchase requests receipt and any information that can be used as an audit trail for future follow-up. Update and maintain tissue bank information.

  • Maintains and promotes positive interdisciplinary communications.

  • Is knowledgeable of promotes and actively assists with departmental and hospital wide goals.
  • Discusses questions concerns or problems about the department with only your supervisor.
  • Does not promote or support gossip and rumors relative to hospital and department.

Knowledge and practice of hospital and departmental policy and procedure

  • Reviews hospital policy and procedure manuals annually
  • Contributes in assisting with new procedures for better efficiency
  • Promotes and practices policies and procedures on a consistent basis.

Professional Image

  • Enhances and supports the image of a professional through appropriate attire demeanor and manner of speech.

Guest Relations

Maintains a consistent positive guest relation attitude in carrying out hospital role.

  • Always handles all patient contacts in a courteous professional manner.
  • Receives places and transfers calls using appropriate telephone etiquette; handles telephone information request with courtesy accuracy and respect for confidentiality.
  • Consistently interacts with physicians peers other departmental personnel volunteers and external service providers in a courteous and professional manner.

Job Qualifications

Experience

License/Certifications

American Heart Association BLS Certification preferred

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $38.12 - $49.45 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
