Job Summary
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Rochester NY
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule
- Shift: Day Shift 3x12 Hours (07:00 19:00)
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday (as needed)
- Orientation: 16 hours (Non-billable)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit in a leading acute care hospital. The role involves managing medical patients with varying acuity levels supporting RNs and delivering safe high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Perform vital signs monitoring pain assessments and intake/output tracking
- Administer medications via multiple routes (oral IM SQ NG/G-tube IV)
- Perform basic wound care and manage drains (JP/Hemovac)
- Conduct telemetry monitoring and assist with 12-lead EKGs
- Provide oxygen therapy and feeding tube management
- Assist with Foley catheter insertion and specimen collection
- Document patient care using Epic EMR
- Communicate patient condition changes to RN/MD
- Float to other units within skillset as required
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State LPN License (Required Non-Compact)
- Minimum recent acute care experience (within last 2 years)
- Ability to manage own patient assignment under RN supervision
- Epic EMR experience required
- Certification: BLS (Required)
- Strong clinical skills in Med/Surg and Telemetry care
