Company Overview:
GLISS General Labor & Industrial Staffing Solutions is hiring for Oregon DEQ-Certified Asbestos Abatement Worker in Salem OR. This is an excellent opportunity to join a environmental remediation team with competitive pay and great benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Preparation: Build containment areas using 6-min poly sheeting establish negative air pressure systems and set up decontamination units according to DEQ/OSHA standards.

• Abatement: Safely remove friable and non-friable ACM (including pipe insulation surfacing materials and floor/ceiling tiles) using wet-method techniques.

• Waste Management: Properly package label and transport asbestos waste for disposal at approved landfills.

• Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean-shaven face for daily respirator fit; wear and maintain all required PPE (half-face full-face or PAPR)

Qualifications:

• Oregon DEQ Asbestos Worker Certification (or ability to obtain)

• 1 year experience preferred (newly certified encouraged to apply!)

• Strong work ethic & commitment to safety

• Fit-test ready & able to wear PPE/Respirator daily

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. & work in confined spaces or heights.

• Wear a respirator/protective suit for extended periods in varying temperatures.

Schedule Details:

• Monday Friday 6 am 7 am start time
