Senior Software Development Engineer, High Value Send

About the Role:

As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the High Value Send Experience team youll build the systems that earn the trust of Remitlys high value senders. These are customers moving large transfers for real estate education long-term investments and other milestones that shape their financial futures across borders. This full-stack role spans customer-facing web and mobile experiences and deep partnership with foundational teams across identity and trust money movement pricing and more. Youll partner with product design and engineering peers to define what it means to earn customer trust on their most consequential transfers --- for customers sending more with more on the line. You will report to the Engineering Manager for the team.

You Will:

• Champion the customer experience by using customer signal product instincts and data to inform technical decisions --- translating what high value senders need into the systems that serve them.

• Lead technical design and architecture for complex systems that power the High Value Send experience --- breaking down ambiguous greenfield problems into clear technical strategies and measurable outcomes.

• Ship reliable observable and scalable systems across web mobile and backend services that meet strict availability and latency SLOs for the customer flows where trust matters most.

• Operate AI-natively because its how one person outships a team of ten.

• Partner with product design analytics and partner engineering teams to translate goals into scalable technical solutions for a diverse global customer base.

• Strengthen engineering culture by mentoring teammates leading technical discussions providing meaningful code review feedback and advocating for best practices in coding testing and system design as we grow this team.

You Have:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent work experience.

• 7 years of professional software development experience with experience building and operating systems end-to-end.

• Experience building customer-facing experiences at product scale with TypeScript React and native mobile development (iOS/Android React Native).

• Proficiency in one or more modern backend languages such as Java Kotlin Go or Python with a record of delivering production-quality code.

• Use AI tools in your own software development workflow from authoring agents that act as force-multipliers that help you scale to drafting and iterating on technical specs prototyping or validating concepts using the Claude Code

• Demonstrated experience designing and building distributed large-scale systems with an understanding of service-oriented or microservices architecture.

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS GCP or Azure including familiarity with managed services.

• Bonus: Experience in FinTech payments or other regulated industries where reliability security and compliance shape engineering decisions.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180000-$225000. In the U.S. Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
