TEAM LEADER PRODUCTION

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee production operations and lead a high-performing team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can drive productivity ensure quality standards and manage teams effectively while maintaining operational efficiency.

The Role

You will be responsible for leading a production team ensuring output targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality efficiency and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

Leadership & People Management

• Leading and supervising production staff including operators and support teams
• Driving a positive productive and performance-focused team culture
• Providing coaching mentoring and ongoing development support
• Managing HR-related matters such as leave planning queries and basic IR issues
• Handling conflict resolution and promoting strong team engagement

Production & Productivity

• Supporting production planning scheduling and resource allocation
• Ensuring daily production targets and deadlines are achieved
• Monitoring workflows to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime
• Identifying bottlenecks and implementing process improvements
• Analysing production data to drive performance improvements

Quality Control & Continuous Improvement

• Ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications
• Conducting regular quality checks and inspections
• Collaborating with technical teams to resolve quality issues
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
• Implementing and maintaining quality control processes

Reporting & Performance Management

• Tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Maintaining accurate production and performance records
• Providing regular updates to management on team and operational performance
• Supporting data-driven decision-making through reporting and analysis

Customer & Operational Alignment

• Ensuring production outputs meet internal customer expectations
• Collaborating with other departments to align production schedules
• Communicating effectively across teams to ensure smooth workflow
• Proactively addressing issues that may impact delivery timelines

Compliance & Housekeeping

• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations policies and procedures
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping (5S) within the production area
• Reporting machinery issues and coordinating with maintenance teams
• Ensuring proper use storage and handling of equipment and materials

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Key requirements:

• National Diploma or Degree in Operations or Production Management (or equivalent)
• Leadership or supervisory training (essential)
• 35 years experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Proven experience leading and managing teams
• Strong understanding of production planning quality control and productivity principles
• Proficiency in MS Office
