C#.NET Back End Developer (3-5 years)(Permanent) Cape Town

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global technology company in the gaming and entertainment space. This is a permanent backend-focused software development role based in Cape Town offering the opportunity to work on large-scale high-performance software products used by millions of users worldwide.

You will join a collaborative engineering team that values quality automation and continuous improvement. The environment is fast-paced but supportive with a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional growth.

• Developing and maintaining multiple integrated software components using C#
• Writing clean testable and well-documented code across full vertical slices of features
• Building and improving automated functional and non-functional tests
• Participating in and conducting code reviews within the team
• Contributing to CI/CD pipeline development maintenance and quality gates
• Working with Docker containers during development testing and deployment
• Identifying and resolving engineering productivity issues
• Collaborating closely with SDETs product owners and technical leads to deliver quality software

Minimum requirements:

• 3 5 years of hands-on professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in C#
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and SDLC
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests (unit integration functional)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and build/release processes
• Familiarity with Docker and containerised development environments
• Proficient with Git - branching pull requests code reviews
• Relevant 3-year degree or diploma in a technical field or equivalent practical experience

Beneficial (not required):

• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure AWS or GCP)
• Knowledge of secure development practices and threat modelling

• You write tests as a natural part of development not an afterthought
• You leave codebases cleaner than you found them
• You are comfortable working across integration points between multiple components
• You share knowledge proactively and contribute to team learning
• You take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments
