WHAT IS THE JOB
As the Senior Associate Email & Lifecycle Marketing you will own the day-to-day execution and optimization of Mashburns email and SMS lifecycle marketing program. You will be responsible for driving retention engagement and revenue through structured campaign planning segmentation and automation across the full customer lifecycle - from acquisition through nurture retention and reactivation.
This role works closely with Performance Marketing Creative and Site Experience to ensure messaging timing and customer journeys are aligned. You will bring ideas and recommendations to the table with strategic direction sitting with senior leadership and a Senior Performance Marketing Manager joining the team over time. This position is in our Atlanta headquarters and reports to Senior Director Ecommerce and Digital Marketing.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute email and SMS strategies to achieve retention and revenue goals
- Own the day-to-day execution and deployment of all email and SMS campaigns and automated flows in Klaviyo ensuring every send goes out on time on brand and to the right audience
- Develop and execute the email and SMS marketing calendar including campaigns automated flows and editorial sends in coordination with Creative and Site Experience
- Own lifecycle programs across acquisition handoff nurture retention and reactivation mapping each flow to its customer stage: Welcome Abandoned Cart and Browse Post-Purchase and Winback
- Partner with Performance Marketing on the acquisition-to-retention handoff ensuring new customers from paid channels transition seamlessly into lifecycle flows with consistent messaging
- Build and optimize automated flows to improve retention and repeat purchase behavior managing trigger logic timing and segmentation within each flow per established strategy
- Manage audience segmentation and list targeting across campaigns and flows ensuring the right customers receive the right message at the right time
- Monitor deliverability list health and engagement rates maintaining suppression logic and compliance standards across all sends
- Own sign-up form performance including placement conversion optimization and the post-submission subscriber experience
- Track email and SMS performance and provide insights to inform future campaigns including revenue per send open rates click rates and unsubscribes reporting results to leadership
- Partner with Creative on the design-to-send handoff ensuring brand-aligned assets are received built and deployed on schedule
- Coordinate with Site Merchandising on product launch timing and content calendar prioritization ensuring launch dates are reflected accurately in the send schedule
- Coordinate with the current agency on flow management and support the gradual transition of the program fully in-house
WHAT ARE THE SKILLS
- 36 years of experience in email marketing or lifecycle marketing ideally in ecommerce or digital retail
- Proficiency with Klaviyo or a comparable ESP - flows campaigns segmentation A/B testing and performance reporting
- Solid understanding of lifecycle email and SMS strategies across acquisition nurture retention and reactivation with the ability to apply that thinking to day-to-day execution
- Strong attention to detail with an unwavering commitment to QA and accuracy on every send
- Proven ability to manage a busy content calendar across multiple send types and cross-functional stakeholders
- Collaborative and communicative with the ability to work effectively with Creative Performance Marketing Site Experience and senior leadership
- Experience partnering with a paid or performance marketing team on acquisition-to-retention handoff is strongly preferred
