Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Surg Tele (Orthopedic Unit)
Location: Columbia SC
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule

• Shift: Day Shift 3x12 Hours (07:00 19:30)
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Total 6 weekend shifts)
• Orientation: 16 hours (Non-billable)

Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC ishiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Surg Telemetry Orthopedic unit at a leading Level I Trauma Center. The role focuses on post-operative orthopedic and telemetry patients particularly spinal surgery cases in a high-acuity clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Tele orthopedic unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry patients
• Deliver post-operative care for spine and orthopedic surgeries
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies
• Document patient care using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT and pain management
• Float to other units/campuses as required based on competency

Unit Details

• Unit: 26-bed Orthopedic Spine Unit
• Patient Ratio: 1:56
• Patient Population: Adult
• Common Cases: Spinal surgeries (laminectomy fusion discectomy) cardiac conditions COPD DVT PE chest pain diabetes
• Procedures: Lumbar puncture post-cath care renal biopsy CT Angio Heparin drips

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN License or Compact License (Required at submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience
• Orthopedic experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience
• Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS (Required)
• First-time travelers accepted
