We support public and private entities that want to improve the environmental social and economic impacts of policies projects and investments. As a spin-off of the University of Padova and a certified B Corp; we work locally and internationally bringing scientific innovation into everyones life.

Who are we looking for
Etifor is seeking a
- an intern with a background in forestry
- curious motivated and eager to learn with a strong interest in nature forests and ecosystems willing to develop practical skills in ecosystem restoration projects within a team that will support and guide them throughout their learning journey;
- an organized and hands-on person who will support the Ecosystem Restoration team in the operational activities related to WOWnature our initiative that helps individuals organizations and companies grow new forests and protect existing ones;
- a team player with strong interpersonal skills comfortable interacting with a variety of stakeholders;
- proactive and flexible willing to engage in both office-based and field activities;
- precise and reliable with attention to detail in handling technical and administrative documentation.
Role and responsibilities
Main: support to the Ecosystem Restoration team in the development and management of forestry projects including scouting and design of new initiatives; preparation of technical and administrative documentation for project implementation (e.g. supplier contracts agreements and conventions with forest managers technical reporting); field monitoring activities; as well as organization of and participation in events.
Additional: opportunity to be involved in broader team activities beyond core forestry projects such as site visits and support to reporting activities for other initiatives.
Education
Masters degree in Forestry Sciences or related fields
Experience
Previous experience is not required; however any academic or extracurricular experience related to forestry environmental sciences or ecosystem restoration will be considered a plus (e.g. university projects thesis work internships volunteering activities).
Experience in field activities and data collection is also appreciated.
Required skills
- Professional proficiency in Italian and English (both spoken and written); knowledge of additional languages is a plus;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel;
- Basic knowledge of GIS;
- Strong communication skills;
- Interpersonal skills for interacting with public administrations forestry technicians forest managers and the general public.
Nice to have: previous experience in projects related to the broader water domain such as riparian forest management wetland management and restoration oxbow lakes forested infiltration areas water resource management etc.
