Verafin Senior Software Developer (Lakehouse Data Integration)

As a Senior Software Developer on our Lakehouse Data Integration Team youll play a critical role in designing building and maintaining scalable data applications that power Nasdaq Verafins lakehouse platform and enable seamless data integration across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and maintain robust scalable applications using Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Write and optimize high-performance queries using PostgreSQL to support large-scale data operations.
• Build and maintain comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality and system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data integration solutions that drive business outcomes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes tooling and platform architecture.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java with solid understanding of object-oriented design.
• Proven experience with PostgreSQL including query optimization and database performance tuning.
• Clear communicator with experience working in collaborative cross-functional environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Hands-on experience deploying and scaling applications within AWS infrastructure (e.g. EC2 S3 RDS EMR Lambda).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or cloud-native architectures.

This position will be located in St. Johns or Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office subject to change providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
