About the opportunity
The Team Leader Scheme Integrity Investigations is a key leadership role within WorkSafes Scheme Integrity Division. You will lead and guide a team responsible for the delivery of complex and highprofile investigations that are critical to protecting scheme integrity and public confidence. Your focus is on setting direction building capability and exercising sound judgement to achieve high quality defensible outcomes in a dynamic and often high pressure environment.
As a member of the Scheme Integrity leadership team you will actively collaborate with peers to shape priorities share insights and drive consistent joined up approaches across the division. Success in this role relies on your ability to strengthen capability model leadership and create an environment built on trust accountability and professionalism.
While you may occasionally support investigative activity your primary contribution is through leadership influence and decisionmaking. You will be confident navigating complex stakeholder environments and making decisions that may have legal reputational or organisational implications.
Key accountabilities
- Lead coach and develop a high performing investigations team aligned to Scheme Integrity and organisational priorities
- Contribute as an active member of the Scheme Integrity leadership team supporting collective decision making consistency and shared accountability
- Set clear direction monitor performance and manage risk to ensure timely and effective investigation outcomes
- Provide trusted advice and insights to senior leaders on emerging issues trends and strategic risks
- Build strong collaborative relationships across internal and external stakeholders to support alignment and confidence in investigations activity
- Represent Investigations in key forums and promote the value and impact of integrity work
- Ensure compliance with legislation governance probity and quality standards including oversight of highquality briefs and correspondence

- Demonstrated effective people management or supervisory experience including the capability to develop and support individual team members
- Highly developed conceptual and problems solving skills and the ability to analyse complex and high volumes of data and information
- A good working knowledge of compensation legislation and/or a high level of expertise in working with and interpreting legislation including codes and technical standards
- Extensive experience in conducting complex investigations within the criminal justice system
- Experience in the role of an expert on investigative evidentiary and legal issues to internal and external stakeholders
- A high level of competency in project management combined with an ability to manage own time effectively and work independently
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and to provide expert advice and support to investigators carrying out criminal investigations and to lawyers carrying out prosecution
- A current and valid Victorian drivers licence with no restrictions
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline including investigations law and/or significant work experience would be highly desired
