At Plan International we work to advance childrens rights and equality for girls. We are currently seeking a Project Assistant UNHCR Livelihood to support the implementation of a livelihoods project in Aswan that aims to enhance the economic resilience and self-reliance of refugees and vulnerable host community members.
In this role you will support the day-to-day implementation monitoring and coordination of project activities ensuring high-quality delivery in line with Plan Internationals Country Strategy and donor requirements. You will work closely with partners field teams and stakeholders to ensure effective execution of livelihoods interventions including vocational training business support and social cohesion activities.
You will play a key role in linking beneficiaries with services and opportunities supporting reporting processes monitoring progress against indicators and ensuring strong coordination across all project stakeholders.
The Role
As Project Assistant UNHCR Livelihood you will:
Support the implementation and follow-up of project activities in Aswan in line with approved workplans
Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project implementation plans and tracking progress against targets
Contribute to preparation of quarterly progress reports and donor reporting requirements
Monitor project activities ensuring alignment with indicators timelines and quality standards
Support coordination meetings partner engagement and implementation review sessions
Assist in monitoring budgets and ensuring expenditures are aligned with approved plans
Support preparation of Project Outlines (POs) in SAP and ensure compliance with donor requirements
Facilitate collaboration with field teams and other projects to promote synergies and learning
Support logistics procurement and operational processes for smooth implementation
Ensure safeguarding Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) and M&E standards are embedded in all activities
Maintain effective working relationships with government stakeholders partners and community actors
Support documentation of lessons learned best practices and project evidence
About You
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong coordination and field implementation skills and a passion for supporting inclusive and sustainable livelihoods programming.
You will ideally have:
A Bachelors degree in Social Sciences Development Studies or a related field
1-3 years of experience in an INGO or humanitarian development context
Experience in livelihoods community development or project implementation
Strong skills in coordination reporting and stakeholder engagement
Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes
Experience working with local partners and community-based organizations
Strong communication facilitation and problem-solving skills
Good command of English language
Willingness to conduct regular field visits (approximately 20%)
Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
- Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan Internationals Code of Conduct (CoC) ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
- Ensures that Humanitarian Program staff are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan Internationals safeguarding and GEI policies;
- Ensures that Plan Internationals global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in project design during implementation and as principles applied in day-to-day work of Programme team;
- Ensures that Plan Egypt contributes to Plan Internationals global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
