Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (ED)
Location: Syracuse NY
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM) includes every other weekend and some holidays
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Adult Emergency Department (ED). This is a day shift position with shifts from 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM including every other weekend and some holidays. The ideal candidate should have experience working with both Adult and Pediatric patients and possess a strong background in Level 1 or 2 trauma centers. Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- BLS certification required and ability to recertify.
- Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience (within the last 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and level as the hospital.
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records preferred.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must not have had professional license or certification suspended or investigated.
- Must not have been named as a defendant in a professional liability claim.
- Must have verification of legal right to work in the U.S.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance.
- All candidates will be subject to drug screening and criminal background check.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
- Perform a majority of patient care skills and conduct nursing assessments in an acute care environment.
- Respond to trauma cases performing critical care interventions as needed.
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently using EPIC (if applicable).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assess and triage patients appropriately based on severity.
- Participate in weekend and holiday shifts as part of the scheduled rotation.
