Job Title: Travel Cardiology Diagnostic Technician III (Phlebotomy & EKG)
Location: Hyannis Massachusetts
Employment Type: Full-Time 13-Week Contract
Schedule: 3637.5 hours per week
Shift: 12-Hour Shifts (11:00 AM 11:30 PM)
Rotation: Every other weekend and rotating holidays
Eligibility Requirement: Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered.
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Cardiology Diagnostic Technician III to support both phlebotomy services and non-invasive cardiac testing in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role plays a critical part in patient diagnostics ensuring accuracy efficiency and a high standard of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and collect clinical specimens for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient identity and provide clear instructions for specimen collection procedures.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory following established protocols.
- Conduct non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures including EKGs Holter monitoring and stress testing.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation and lab requisitions.
- Enter and manage patient data within hospital information systems.
- Collaborate with nursing staff lab personnel and leadership to ensure efficient workflow.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain proper use of PPE at all times.
- Support nursing units with specimen collection and diagnostic needs.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff and clinical students as assigned.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
- Identify and escalate workflow challenges or quality concerns.
- Participate in departmental meetings training and continuing education.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment.
- Deliver exceptional patient-centered care at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT) required.
- EKG Certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a high-volume clinical setting.
- Prior experience in an acute care or hospital environment preferred.
