BGC Okanagan is hiring a temporary full-time Program Coordinator for our Youth Drop-In Program at the Westside Youth Centre.

The Youth Drop-In Program supports young people by providing a fun safe environment meeting basic needs and offering engaging activities. This temporary position runs from June 1 2026 to July 6 2027 or until the return of the incumbent.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned program. Develops implements coordinates and evaluates plans and programs designed to ensure that the needs of youth and families are met.
• Ensures that program standards guidelines and policies of BGCO are maintained and that all requirements are met.
• Assists with the recruitment of program staff and volunteers including conducting interviews selection hiring and orientation.
• Authority for the day-to-day direction performance feedback of program staff and volunteers. Addresses staff workplace issues and assists in resolving workplace disputes.
• Ensures that accurate program and client records are maintained and that confidentiality is a priority.
• Responsible for the co-ordination of quality and diverse programming. Works closely with the Manager on program development procedures and evaluations.
• Manages program budgets.
• Ensures effective communication with staff and participants.

Qualifications:

• Three (3) years recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience or equivalent combination of education training and experience.
• Diploma in a related human/ social service field.
• First Aid certification and Food Safe certification or willingness to obtain
• Class 4 Drivers Licence
• Successful completion of the Agency screening process including criminal record check

Hours: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 1:00pm-8:00pm

Wage: $26.19 per hour
