Duration: Approx. 12 months with potential to extend
Pay rate: $65.18 $73.53 per hour plus 12% super
Citizenship requirements: Must be an Australian citizen at time of application
Overview
This role sits within a federal government regulatory environment responsible for evaluating applications relating to prescription medicines. The team manages submissions for new medicines variations to existing registrations and ensures applications progress efficiently through the regulatory lifecycle.
The section primarily handles minor variation applications under relevant legislation and contributes to broader regulatory clinical and advisory functions. The team also provides input into product information supports approval processes and collaborates across multiple internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and finalise minor variation applications for prescription medicines with a high level of accuracy within a regulatory framework
- Work collaboratively within a team-based allocation model demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues relating to submissions and regulatory requirements
- Provide subject matter expertise and contribute legislative and clinical advice
- Support a positive and collaborative team culture
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and operational planning
- Undertake administrative tasks to support team and delegated functions
- Participate in trade name review activities
- Perform additional duties as required by leadership
Experience/requirements:
- Current registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA
- Ability to quickly develop knowledge of legislative and regulatory frameworks
- Strong decision-making skills with sound professional judgement
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure setting
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work autonomously
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
- Experience in or understanding of therapeutic goods regulation in Australia (desirable)
