This role is eligible for commuter benefits:Employees who commute over 20 miles one way may receive a monthly stipend:
- $200 per month for fulltime staff
- $100 per month for parttime staff
What you bring:
- Masters degree in social work marriage & family therapy or psychology from an accredited college or university required.
- One (1) year direct service experience in a mental health setting required (student internship and/or practicum time may be substituted).
- Experience in an inpatient therapy setting preferred.
- Mental Health Specialist II: Licensed as AMFT ACSW or APCC required.
- Mental Health Specialist III: Licensed as LMFT LCSW or LPCC required.
How you will make a difference
- Prepares a comprehensive written psychosocial evaluation and assessment on assigned clients in addition to an intake note daily progress notes summary notes (as may be required) and a discharge summary.
- Responsible for assessing clients readiness for admission and coordination planning with treatment team the clients case managers and transferring facilities
- Responsible for assessing clients readiness for discharge and coordination planning with treatment team; working with case managers to effect appropriate referrals for placement case management and aftercare services; coordinates benefits (Medi-Cal) with Business Office personnel; and maintains knowledge of community resources.
- Provides individual group therapy to clients on a weekly basis and as needed based on the needs of the clients
- Actively participates in treatment team meetings and is responsible for working with other disciplines to develop a coordinated treatment plan for assigned clients.
- Leads or co-leads therapeutic groups.

- 24/7 inpatient voluntary program
- 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)
- Rehabilitation/recovery services including substance use rehabilitation services
- Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
- Medication evaluation and support services
