Structural Engineer – Bridges and Transportation

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Structural/Bridge Engineer at EBA you will be responsible for a range of tasks including:

• Performing structural analysis and design for transportation structures such as bridges retaining walls box culverts and pipes.
• Preparing engineering calculations and developing design drawings.
• Conducting fieldwork including site visits and bridge inspections (based on NBIS) building inspections and preparing inspection reports.
• Conducting load ratings for bridges and culverts.
• Reviewing drawings and reports to develop design options repair recommendations and cost estimates.
• Confirming work is in compliance with AASHTO MDOT SHA and project-specific standards and requirements.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role candidates must possess:

• A bachelors degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
• 4-7 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in steel and concrete design.
• A Maryland EIT.
• NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certification.
• Proficiency in using MicroStation and AutoCAD for bridge projects.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD code requirements.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• A Maryland PE.
• A masters degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
