Job Summary
Investment Office General OverviewMass General Brighams Investment Office manages more than $30 billion for MGB invested primarily via partnerships with third-party investment management firms. Strategies in the portfolio include private equity venture capital long-only equities long/short equities and real assets investments. Our goal is to generate excellent long-term risk-adjusted returns to support MGBs mission to improve the lives and health outcomes of patients globally.

Job Summary
The Investment Office seeks a highly motivated professional to be responsible for setting and executing the technology strategy for the Investment Office enabling best-in-class investment decision-making portfolio management risk oversight and operational efficiency. The Director of Technology partners closely with investment operations risk and finance leadership to deliver secure scalable and data-driven technology platforms that support public and private market investing. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of academic achievement success working in a team environment to achieve common goals and familiarity with the workings of an institutional investment office.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Define and execute the Investment Office technology strategy aligned with investment objectives and fiduciary responsibilities.
Build and lead a high-performing technology team supporting investment and operations functions.
Partner with administrative investment legal and operations teams to translate investment workflows into effective technology solutions.
Ensure technology platforms support the full investment lifecycle including research portfolio construction trading performance and reporting.
Oversee investment data architecture including market data portfolio data alternative data and reference data.
Enable advanced analytics reporting and quantitative tools to support investment research and risk management.
Support integration of third-party investment systems (performance risk accounting) and external data providers.
Lead design and delivery of modern scalable and resilient technology platforms including cloud and hybrid environments.
Ensure strong cybersecurity data privacy and access controls appropriate for a fiduciary investment environment.
Establish disaster recovery business continuity and incident response capabilities.
Own technology budgeting forecasting and cost optimization.
Manage technology vendor relationships contracts and service providers.
Foster a culture of accountability partnership with investment teams and continuous improvement.
Proactively evaluate emerging technologies (e.g. advanced analytics automation AI/ML) for applicability to investment research operations and risk and propose new solutions to the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Finance or related field (advanced degree preferred).
10 years of IT management experience - Director level experience is a plus - including responsibility for enterprise platforms and data.
Experience supporting investment management asset management endowment pension or family office environments.
Strong understanding of investment data analytics and system integration.
Collaborative team player; proven ability to work closely with senior investment professionals.
Experience with public and/or private markets technology platforms.
Experience in regulated or fiduciary environments.
Strong communication skills.
Team management experience preferred.
Hybrid role with two days per week in-office required (Tuesday/Wednesday).
