Job Description

Counseling Services at the University of Nevada Reno seeks aLicensed Mental Health Clinician or Psychologist to coordinate eating disorder treatment servicesas part of a multidisciplinary care team in collaboration with the Student Health Center. This role provides the opportunity to deliver specialized clinical care for students experiencing eating disorders while contributing to a collaborative clinical environment that values professional development innovative service delivery and student-centered care.

This position includes a meaningful focus on eating disorder assessment treatment and program development with opportunities to shape and expand eating disorder services within Counseling Services in collaboration with the Student Health Center including collaboration with medical providers consultation with campus partners and development of prevention and early-intervention programming. Our center operates asame-day access and brief therapy modeldesigned to reduce barriers to care and provide timely support for students experiencing mental health concerns. Clinicians provide brief individual and group therapy crisis intervention consultation and outreach while working closely with campus partners to support student wellbeing and academic success.

Required Qualifications

Candidates may be hired at the Licensed Clinician Advanced Licensed Clinician Psychologist or Advanced Psychologist level based on experience scope of practice and alignment with position expectations.

Minimum Requirement (All Levels)

  • Clinical experience working with individuals experiencing eating disorders disordered eating or body image concerns

Masters-Level Clinician

  • Masters degree in a clinical mental health field (e.g. Social Work Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy or related field)

  • Completion of graduate-level practica and internships that meet eligibility requirements for licensure in Nevada

  • Current licensure in Nevada as a mental health clinician (LCSW LMFT or CPC) or eligibility to obtain such licensure within six months of hire

Licensed Clinician (Advanced)

  • Masters degree in a clinical mental health field(e.g. Social Work Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy or related field)

  • Current licensure in Nevada as a mental health clinician (LCSW LMFT or CPC) or eligibility to obtain such licensure within six months of hire

  • Minimum of four (4) years of post-licensure clinical experience

  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following:

    • Direct clinical service delivery

    • Clinical supervision

    • Specialized clinical practice area

Doctoral-Level Psychologist

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology including completion of a doctoral internship

  • Licensed Psychologist in the State of Nevada (or eligibility for licensure)

  • Experience as a licensed Psychologist ranging from entry level (up to one year) to a minimum of four (4) years of post-licensure experience for more advanced placement

  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following:

    • Direct clinical service delivery including specialty clinical areas

    • Clinical supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized training or strong interest in eating disorder treatment

  • Experience with evidence-based treatments for eating disorders (e.g. CBT-E DBT ACT FBT)

  • Experience working in a university counseling center

  • Experience supervising graduate trainees

  • Experience providing outreach or consultation services

  • Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive clinical practice

  • Psychologist only: Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral internship

Compensation Grade

Licensed Clinician - Administrative Faculty B; Typical Range $87000 $91000

Advanced Licensed Clinician - Administrative Faculty C; Typical Range $95000 $100000

Psychologist - Administrative Faculty C; Typical Range: $98000 $103000

Advanced Licensed Psychologist - Administrative Faculty D; Typical Range: $108000 $113000

Candidates will be hired at the level that is comparable to their experience knowledge skills and abilities.
