Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and strategic healthcare leader to serve as the Director of Patient Safety. This role is responsible for leading and advancing a comprehensive hospital-wide patient safety program focused on eliminating preventable harm and strengthening a culture of safety. The Director will partner with executive leadership clinical teams and key stakeholders to drive system-wide safety initiatives risk reduction strategies and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Safety & Risk Management
Lead initiatives to identify assess and mitigate patient safety risks
Develop and implement systems to reduce preventable harm
Oversee risk management and claims-related activities
Quality & Safety Culture
Promote and sustain a strong culture of safety across the organization
Drive measurable improvements in patient safety outcomes
Lead safety education and awareness programs
Leadership & Collaboration
Collaborate with executive and clinical leadership to align safety strategies
Engage patients and families in safety initiatives
Lead and develop a team focusing on performance and capability building
Operations & Strategy
Implement patient safety programs policies and best practices
Monitor performance metrics and lead continuous improvement efforts
Support adoption of enterprise-wide systems and processes
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in a healthcare-related field
Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in a healthcare-related field
Clinical background preferred
Experience Requirements
35 years of recent experience in Patient Safety Risk Management or Quality Improvement
Experience must be within a clinical setting (hospital ASC or similar)
Strong emphasis on direct Patient Safety experience
