Position Overview
The Senior Benefits Manageris responsible forleading enterprise-wide benefits operations and ensuring compliance across all programs.This roleis responsible forensuring the integrity efficiency and strategic alignment of benefit programsincluding health welfare retirement and leave of absence programsthrough strong vendor partnerships file feed management and data governance.
This is acritical role in strengthening system integrationsoptimizingfile transmissions and enhancing overall vendor communication protocols. This position partners cross-functionally to ensure benefitoperations are scalable compliant and aligned with broader organizational priorities.
Operating witha high levelof autonomy this role partners closely with Operations Directors Practice ManagersMedicalLeaders and HR partners to drive consistent HR practices strengthen leader effectiveness support employee experience and ensure scalable people processes aligned withAmeriVetscontinued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert for self-funded medical plans overseeing plan design administration vendor management and ongoing performance optimization.
Lead enterprise-level oversight of benefits operations including health & welfare plans self-funded medical plans 401(k)/retirement plans and leave of absence programs (FMLA ADA state leave)
Ensure accuracy and integrity of file feeds system integrations and benefits data across platforms
Manage strategic vendor relationships (TPAs carriers recordkeepers and leave administrators) ensuring proactive communication accountability and service optimization
Oversee inbound and outbound file transmissions between HRIS (Workday) payroll and third-party administrators to ensure compliance and operational continuity
Serve as a subject matter expert in Workday Benefits and Absence Management including configuration business process optimization reporting and integration troubleshooting
Partner with HRIS and IT teams to enhance Workday functionality improve data flows and support system upgrades or implementations
Oversee administration and governance of self-funded plans including coordination with TPAs stop-loss carriers and internal stakeholders to ensure cost control and compliance
Manage 401(k) plan administration including vendor oversight plan compliance nondiscrimination testing coordination and alignment with fiduciary responsibilities
Ensure compliant administration of leave of absence programs including policy alignment vendor oversight and regulatory adherence across multiple states
Drive process improvements based on internal audits compliance reviews and organizational findings
Ensure adherence to applicable federal andstateregulatory requirements (ACA ERISA COBRA FMLA ADA) through strong documentation and governance practices
Partner cross-functionally to align benefits operations with company-wide strategic initiatives
Analyze reporting and data trends toidentifyrisks gaps and optimization opportunities
Support continuous improvement efforts related to systems compliance controls and vendor performance
Education & Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in benefits administration including oversight of complex multi-stateor multi-site environments
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field
Demonstrated experience managing self-funded health plans including vendor/TPA coordination and cost management strategies
Experience overseeing 401(k)/retirement plans including vendor management compliance and audit support
Strong experience overseeing leave of absence programs (FMLA ADA state-specific leaves) including vendor management and compliance
Hands-on experience with Workday Benefits and Absence Management including configuration integrations reporting and issue resolution
Strong background in HRIS systems file feed management and vendor integrations
Experience managing third-party vendor relationships with a focus on service-level accountability
Solid understanding of regulatory frameworksimpactingbenefits administration
Proven ability to translate organizational findings into strategic process improvements
Strong analytical problem-solving and cross-functional partnership skills
Physical Requirements:
Office work and standing and walking during practice visits.
Travel
This role drives excellence inpeoplestrategy leader support and organizational performance across multiple sites.Travel up to 10%
