Part-time Bookkeeper

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-time Bookkeeper to support our clients financial operationsin St. Johns Newfoundland.. This is a permanent part-time role (Monday to Friday 8:30am - 12:00pm) that plays a key role in ensuring financial integrity while contributing to the continued success of both in-house operations and industry-wide awareness and growth.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Oversee monthly and year-end financial close processes
• Prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders and external funders
• Process payroll including remittances onboarding terminations and benefits administration
• Assist with annual budgeting and financial planning
• Act as the primary liaison with external accountants and coordinate year-end reporting
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Present financial data in a clear and accessible manner
• Collaborate with leadership to support financial sustainability and strong fiscal stewardship

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education preferably focused in Accounting
• Progress toward a professional accounting designation (CPA preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience
• Experience with financial reporting budgeting and cash flow management
• Proficiency with accounting software (Sage 50 or equivalent)
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical capability
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• High level of integrity professionalism and confidentiality
• Excellent organizational time management and communication skills
