The Opportunity
The Supplier Quality Engineer will perform quality oversight on purchased products to ensure conformance to specification(s). The individual will work in a team environment and perform on-site supplier audits (certification to WI processes production verifications failure investigations procurement issues).
Additionally the Supplier Quality Engineer will:
- Disposition non-conforming hardware received from the supply base.
- Manage supplier failure investigations and corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier performance relative to quality and delivery.
- Assist Supply Chain Management in selection (or deselection) of suppliers.
- Work with Supply Chain / Manufacturing to assist with receiving and inspection.
- Review / approve supplier part / process documentation. Including but not limited to FAIRs PPAP and Vendor Change requests.
- Auditing of suppliers (and internal manufacturing cells) processes and documentation and quality management systems.
- Support the preferred supplier program part and supplier certification efforts.
- Develops and maintains various PC computer databases records and spreadsheets for statistical and status reporting as required.
- Accumulates statistical data and creates/updates statistical charts and graphs using Microsoft Office products.
- Assists quality audit group as needed. This may involve support of 3rd party audits of WI QMS system and various internal auditing.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- Understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Readings (GD&T) and how to read drawing notes
- 0 - 10 years experience in quality engineering or a related discipline with a familiarity in PPAP methodologies and supplier quality processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to professionally represent Willaims International when interacting with suppliers 3rd part auditors and when applicable OEM customers.
- Must be willing to travel an average of 25% of the time with some trips taking place on short notice
- U. S. Citizenship status required
Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
