Position Summary
Upstream Data is seeking a disciplined and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. Working in tandem with our current Forklift Operator you will be a key part of a two-person handling team responsible for the precise movement of materials loading and unloading deliveries and maintaining the organized storage of assets critical to our energy-tech production.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative professional who thrives in a shared workspace ensuring that inventory moves efficiently while upholding the highest standards of safety and procedural compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the existing Forklift Operator to coordinate the movement of materials between production areas storage facilities and loading docks.
- Execute the safe loading and unloading of goods from trucks ensuring clear communication with your partner to manage traffic and workflow safely.
- Organise and stage inventory to optimize warehouse space and support production timelines.
- Perform routine daily inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and related warehouse equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing products to verify they meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate real-time records of inventory movements and deliveries.
- Adhere to all company policies provincial safety regulations (Alberta OHS) and industry best practices.
- Maintain valid safety tickets and certifications required for both warehouse and potential field-based tasks.
- Actively participate in maintaining a clean hazard-free work environment through shared responsibility.
- Assist the broader warehouse team with essential tasks including packaging labeling and inventory auditing.
- Collaborate with the procurement and production teams to ensure timely material availability.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience operating industrial forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse flow inventory management principles and shipping/receiving documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude specifically the ability to coordinate tasks effectively with another operator in the same area.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting heavy objects and remaining mobile throughout the shift.
Working Conditions & Hours
- Standard Hours: 8:00 am 4:30 pm Monday through Friday with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Punctuality is essential; the employee is expected to be at their station and ready to commence work by 8:00 am.
- Work is performed in an industrial warehouse setting alongside other machinery and personnel.
