Job Summary

Data Protection Expert (DPIA / GDPR) Part-Time Contract
Brussels Belgium (On-site)
Duration: 7 months (01 June 2026 31 December 2026)

We are looking for an experienced Data Protection Expert to support a large-scale technical and operational programme involving automated number plate recognition (ANPR) systems. The role focuses on ensuring data protection compliance conducting impact assessments and safeguarding privacy in a complex evolving technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and improve existing data processing agreements and DPIAs
  • Design a reusable DPIA template for organisational use
  • Analyse new initiatives and advise on the need for DPIAs or updates
  • Draft and maintain DPIAs and data processing agreements
  • Validate DPIAs when new solutions are deployed
  • Define and maintain a prioritised documentation and delivery roadmap
  • Conduct compliance checks on data processing activities across systems and partners
  • Prepare responses to supervisory authority requests
  • Develop and implement quality management approaches for data protection deliverables
  • Report progress and documentation status to programme management
  • Monitor changes in GDPR and relevant data protection regulations (EU/Belgium) and their impact on operations

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in data protection within a technical IT environment
  • Certified Data Protection Officer (DPO) qualification
  • Strong experience in DPIA creation data mapping and privacy risk assessments
  • Experience working with IT systems cybersecurity concepts and enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 and information security frameworks

Key Skills

  • Expertise in DPIA development and technical risk assessment
  • Strong understanding of IAM (Identity & Access Management)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies
  • Experience with structured documentation compliance tracking and knowledge management systems
  • Ability to work with complex multi-stakeholder environments
