Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Heart & Vascular Sonographer to join a hospital-based Heart & Vascular department. This role involves performing high-quality non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound procedures in both echocardiography and vascular imaging.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in transthoracic echocardiography a patient-focused approach and the ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team. This opportunity offers exposure to advanced imaging technology and a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive echocardiography and vascular ultrasound procedures
- Acquire high-quality diagnostic images using ultrasound equipment
- Review patient history and clinical data prior to examinations
- Ensure accurate documentation and complete study records
- Adhere to established imaging protocols and quality standards
- Educate patients and families on procedures in a clear professional manner
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Assist with scheduling urgent and add-on cases as needed
- Maintain workflow efficiency and support patient throughput goals
- Ensure cleanliness organization and supply readiness in work areas
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment in a safe and effective manner
- Participate in quality assurance peer review and process improvement initiatives
- Stay current with evolving imaging protocols and continuing education
- Attend departmental meetings and training sessions
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound training program
- Minimum 2 years of echocardiography experience
- Strong proficiency in transthoracic echocardiography
- Solid understanding of ultrasound imaging standards and technology
- Knowledge of DICOM systems networking and electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented clinical environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in both cardiac and vascular sonography
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and quality assurance practices
- Prior experience in a hospital-based imaging setting
Certifications & Compliance
- One of the following certifications required:
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) ARDMS
- RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) CCI
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) ARDMS
- RVS (Registered Vascular Sonographer) CCI
- BLS (Basic Life Support) American Heart Association (Required)
